RIP Norman Mailer
I can't say that I know Mailer's wide oeuvre well. I have read Executioner's Song which I didn't find particularly compelling. But despite its flaws, I absolutely love Mailer's account of Apollo 11, Of A Fire on the Moon , which I think is the best literary work ever written about any aspect of the American space program. Take that, Tom Wolfe.
