The USA: Where Even the Extreme Right Are Modalists

I was reading Pandagon today, which was exposing the virulent "Biblically-based" homophobic rhetoric of Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern, including her "Oklahoma Citizen's Proclamation for Morality." I then was surprised to see this Proclamation close with:

BE IT RESOLVED that we, the undersigned, humbly call upon Holy God, our Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer, [emphasis mine] to have mercy on this nation, to stay His hand of judgment, and grant a national awakening of righteousness and Christian renewal as we repent of our great sin.

For the record, Rep. Kern is married to an Independent Baptist minister. As in the case of many Episcopal priests, it is not known whether the formula used above is a mistaken attempt at inclusive Trinitarian language or intentional Modalism.
